You are here: Home … Web Hosting … Hosting Process
It's very simple to set up a hosting plan with GAP 66. There's no set-up charge, no complicated paperwork and no delays! All of our website hosting plans come with everything you need to get your website up and running straight 'out of the box', and if you have any questions our comprehensive help and FAQ pages probably have the answer - if not one of our friendly support staff will be pleased to help. If you already have a domain name you would like to transfer to one of our hosting plans please see the Transferring a Name section, if you are registering a new name see the Buying a Name section.
Once you have decided which website hosting plan and domain name you would like the steps to get your website live are simple:
If you would rather pay by cheque or by credit card over the telephone we can help; choose your hosting plan and check that the domain name you would like is available using the Domain Search box. Then contact us with your payment and we will start the setup process as soon as your funds have cleared.
The way to transfer your domain name to one of our hosting plans varies depending on the type of domain name and who it is registered with. There may be a release fee charged by your curent host, and there can be a delay of up to a week while the transfer takes place.
You may be required to supply a written letter or fax confirming the release, and usually only the current owner can initiate a change. We advise you to contact your current host to find out exactly what they require.
Once you are familiar with your current host's release process, the steps to get your GAP 66 hosting plan set up are simple.
As you cannot access your web space using your domain name until it is transferred, we will create a temporary doman name of your_name.gap66.net that you can use to get your web pages live.
